EARTHQUAKE! DC area shaken by possible quake

Only been about 25 minutes, and still awaiting confirmation (likely from the US Geological Survey / USGS) on the earthquake that struck the Washington, DC metro area.  I felt it pretty good here in Gaithersburg, MD at around 5:05am this morning.

Kinda looks like palm trees…but they are baby walnut trees.

NOAA releases Winter Outlook for 2009 Today

Tropical Storm Henri

Newest tropical storm likely to be short lived.

At 5pm the National Hurricane Center (NHC) designated 91L invest as Tropical Storm Henri. According the the NHC the deep convection has persisted and is now located over the central circulation of the system.
