FLORIDA KEYS
2002 chaser header

You won't be too excited over this collection of photos, although it was quite a nice storm.  I travelled back into the Keys after Hurricane Michelle failed to make landfall just a few days prior.  At the time, I was very enthrawled with being in the Keys and any excuse to go there got me there.

Thunderstorm in the Keys can be very unique.  First, because of the open view, like the Great Plains (in Texas or Kansas), the storms can be seen from miles away.  Also, because of the warm moist environment, there isn't a shortage of storms.  Lastly, the lightning is something to experience.   With very little else around, the sound of the thunder reverberates like no were else.  Boaters may know what I'm talking about, but no many other places on earth are you surrond by so much water, and so little land.  And the Lightning is very bright and brillant here.

The pictures  below mostly document my being there, show-off my truck , and give you an idea of the unique Florida Keys colors of blue and aqua green.
