There hasn't been a ton of activity on the weather front as far as Weather Warrior Media (soon to be Weather Warrior Entertainment). Since Hurricane Irene, my focus has been on getting a new vehicle that will allow me more abilities to head into these various severe weather events. After an exhaustive search, finally ended up with a 2000 Jeep Cherokee that is lifted (just finished 3" lift) and now have to look at replacing the motor (which is running, but has significant issues).



 
HURRICANE NEWS
This year's season is not quite over, but on November 30th, will officially be over. This year we had quite an interesting run in the Atlantic Basic. Active as heck, but like seasons prior, didn't mount to much as far as landfalling risks. The big storm this year was Hurricane Irene which did make US landfall, unlike 2010's Hurricane Earl that affected the Outer Banks of North Carolina as well. There was a ton of named storms.....more
TORNADO NEWS
2011 Was the record breaking year. A big outbreak with the first SPC High Risk day in the North Carolina area (and some nearby states), then continue to St.Louis, Tuscaloosa, and Joplin events. There were many other days that had record breaking number of tornadoes. But the most shocking of 2011 was the dealth and injury that these events caused. Modern warnings and forecasting didn't help the more than 500 folks that died this year....more
WINTER WEATHER NEWS
While we are moving into the new 2011/2012 Season, there was quite a story last year with record breaking snows in the east, and central US. The situation was rather dangerous for many areas and death was a bit too common of the story last season. But, I think between last season and even the season before has been a wake up call for many people that forgot in the inactive snow seasons years prior. We'll have to see how the 2011/2012 season pans out. Already seeing some indicators for a busy season......more
