This is the Denver city skyline from I-25

One of the first up close views from I-70 west of Denver

Starting to see some of the ski resorts and trails, didn't seem too busy considering how good the the conditions were

Kinda reminded be of the Matahorn Peak

Wind blown snow collects in the basin, must be extremely deep snow at the bottom.

This one is a little scary, as I'm looking at this avalanche risk right above me and the highway.

Here is an obvious avalanche risk.

Here too is another avalanche risk.

There was lots of spots ready to fall.

We walked into some of these areas, and while some spots weren't so deep, other areas got to be as much as 6 to 10 feet deep.

A lone skier comes down in the back country.  This area area around Loveland Pass is great back country skiing.
To the left is a view of hte Loveland Pass sign as viewed from about 1000 feet above, as I ascended (picture taken with a zoom lense)

The bottom three just below is of Route 9, with all the hair pin turns.  We drove this road upto the Loveland Pass parking area.  You can see how steep the fall is just of the side of the road....and not, there's no guardrails.

Lots fo cool trees around, like this one.

Above left, Jason Foster, Middle and right is Jeff Gammons.  To the left is JJ, Kersten's son.  This was JJ's first experience with snow.
